3 days in a week he used to come to office on a bicycle and remaining days on an Electric unicycle
Electric unicycle as the name suggests has one wheel and is driven by electric drive terrain, it is minimalist car for the world that is fighting with dreadful pollution and congestion, EUC is not a compromise rather it is leagues above all forms of singular transport, there are only 5 components in electric unicycle:
1. Wheel: You can choose from multiple wheel sizes, a common one is 14”, 16”, 18” and 22” inch. Selecting right wheel size is important, larger wheel size provides stability on bad roads because EUC does not have a suspension system. A larger wheel can reduce maneuverability a bit.
2. Battery: Battery is another important constituent of EUC, you need a bigger battery for longer commutes at the same time adequate battery ensures that you have enough energy to power safety sensors in EUC.
3. Gyroscope, Accelerometer, and Inverted Pendulum: An Accelerometer and Gyroscope act as automatic acceleration, breaking and safety system for your electric unicycle which does not have any visible accelerator/break. Electric unicycle is programmed to remain at center of gravity and reverse pendulum helps do that, to achieve forward acceleration rider must lean forward which disturbs the equilibrium and wheel rotates forward trying to stabilize the center of gravity, degree of leaning decides how fast wheel should rotate, same mechanism works for breaking rider must either stand straight or lean a bit backwards so that wheel stops rotating. Power of the motor determined the safe limit of leaning/steed at which one can ride, once the threshold is reached either motor shuts down or automatically tilts back to get the rider back to the center of gravity.
4. Motor: Motor is needed for faster acceleration and braking, more powerful motor provides more safety. Motors are available in multiple power range like 250W, 500W, 800W, 1200W and so on, the powerful EUC like Gotway mSuperX uses 2000W motor which can achieve top speed of 60KMPH and good breaking.
5. Pedals to stand: EUC due to complex yet simple acceleration and breaking do not come with suspension system hence sitting could be a jerky ride. All the EUCs have pedal where a rider can stand some optionally offer you seats that can be used for properly paved roads.
